Scout Troop

Welcome to 1st Geddington Scout Troop.

The Scout Troop is for young people, usually aged between 10½ and 14 years and is the third and final Section in the Geddington Scout Group.

Scouts take part in a balanced programme that helps them to find out about the world in which they live, encourages them to know their own abilities and the importance of keeping fit and helps develop their creative talents. It also provides opportunities to explore their own values and personal attitudes.

Training throughout the year is geared towards our summer camp.  Camping is one of the main activities that Scouts undertake and full attendance at camp is considered very important.

Meeting Times
Due to the new changes, meeting times can change depending on the activities planned.  Please check the Programme of Events regularly to make sure you know where and when to meet.  Normal meetings are held at the Youth Club building on Grafton Road.

Uniform
We have decided to relax parts of our policy on uniform.  The uniform consists of: Green scout shirt over a t-shirt, Geddington red and green necker (no woggle is required – necker can be tied) and suitable trousers and shoes depending on the activity.  Scouts may remove their scout shirt after flag break for games and activities, but are required to be wearing it, done up, for the end of the meeting.  For this reason, please make sure all items of clothing are named.
